WPS TRAIN THE TRAINER CLASS

Cost $10.00 per person

As you know the Worker Protection Standard (WPS) is a federal law which requires pesticide safety training for agricultural workers and pesticide handlers.  Employers must assure that worker and handler employees receive the WPS pesticide safety training and/or be able to verify that they have received it. This training must be presented in a manner that worker and handler employees can understand, using a translator, if necessary.   To be recognized as a qualified trainer, individuals must hold a restricted use pesticide applicators license or attend an approved Train the Trainer program.

This program is aimed at individuals who plan to conduct WPS safety training for agricultural workers and pesticide handlers and will go over the Worker Protection Standard - who is covered and the duties of employers, the training information that must be covered and recent changes in the pesticide applicator licensing and CEU requirements.   We will also feature Mr Ricardo Davalos , Environmental Specialist with the Bureau of Compliance Monitoring who will speak about common WPS violations and how to avoid them.

Please RSVP by December 15, 2014 to dcabrera@ufl.edu or call (863) 674-4092.
